Economic performance versus tightness T. Each graph illustrates how 364 US Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) performed in a given year vs. the MSA’s tightness value for that year. The top three figures show results for 2006 only while the bottom three include data for the years 2005–2013. Each point represents a single MSA whose value of T is plotted against (a) nominal per capita personal income, (b) real per capita GDP and (c) home purchase index. The x-axis is logarithmic in each case.
