Introduction
Papers should be submitted via the online submission system at: http://ces.msubmit.net.
Original papers only will be considered. Manuscripts are accepted for review with the understanding that the same work has not been and will not be published nor is presently submitted elsewhere, and that all persons listed as authors have given their approval for the submission of the paper; further, that any person cited as a source of personal communications has approved such citation. Written authorization may be required at the Editor's discretion. Articles and any other material published in Comparative Economic Studies represent the opinions of the author(s) and should not be construed to reflect the opinions of the Editor(s) and the Publisher.
Authors submitting a manuscript do so on the understanding that if it is accepted for publication, copyright of the article, including the right to reproduce the article in all forms and media, shall be assigned exclusively to the Publisher. The Publisher will not refuse any reasonable request by the author for permission to reproduce any of his or her contributions to the journal.

Top of pageIllustrations and tables
Supply tables and figures as separate files, with their position within the text clearly indicated on the page where they are introduced. Provide typed captions for figures and tables (including sources and acknowledgements) on a separate page at the end of the article. Figures are commonly supplied as TIFF or JPEG files; if in doubt about the suitability of your files, please consult the journal Editor.
Present tables with the minimum use of horizontal rules (usually three are sufficient) and avoiding vertical rules except in matrices. It is important to provide high resolution figures (minimum resolution of 300 d.p.i.; if the figure contains text it should be 400 d.p.i. and where it contains small text or other fine detail it should be 600 d.p.i.).
Top of pageFootnotes
Footnotes to the text should be indicated by superscript Arabic numerals cited in order throughout the article. They should be typed doublespaced on a separate page in a hard copy submission. They should appear as endnotes in an electronic submission.
