Media asset management — Interview with John Theodore and Tim Day of SVC, Cognizant

1is a senior project manager with SVC, a division of Cognizant. Cognizant is a leading provider of information technology, consulting and business process outsourcing services. With more than 40 global delivery centers and over 58,000 employees, we combine a unique onsite/offshore delivery model infused by a distinct culture of customer satisfaction. John's 12 years of experience includes delivering DAM system upgrade and enhancement projects, analyzing, documenting and developing DAM-related workflows, designing metadata models and taxonomies/nomenclatures, and evaluating and recommending DAM systems and implementation strategies. Over the past year and a half, Mr. Theodore has focused his attention on the interactive entertainment industry, working with a leading publisher to optimize its global enterprise DAM system and related processes. Mr. Theodore holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College in Los Angeles.

Mr. Day specializes in the areas of DAM along with broadcast IT and digital workflows. He has been developing cutting-edge technologies for new media channels such as mobile, broadband and broadcast for over the past ten years. Before joining SVC, a division of Cognizant, Mr. Day headed up the western regional consulting and implementation team for Verizon — Digital Media Technologies, focusing on DAM and terrestrial content distribution for broadcast.
Abstract
Michael Moon interviews John Theodore, Senior Project Manager, and Tim Day, Senior Project Manager, both with SVC, a division of Cognizant, on their work as technology consultants to the entertainment industry. John and Tim also share their vision of the current and future state of the industry.
