In 2007 Development will celebrate fifty years of publishing some of the best activist intellectual debates on crucial issues affecting communities, places and environments worldwide. The journal's discussion has focused on development policies, practices, and institutions working for economic and social justice, human progress, environmental rights, gender equity, equality and freedom. Development creates a unique space to connect mainstream development policy and research with activism and alternative thinking as a vital resource for those working or interested in development research and policy.
