Abstract

Joanna Kerr1 sets out the main issues facing the women's rights movements today as she answers the question for the 1,800 women who were gathered in Bangkok, about 'why are we here'. She outlines the collective vision and spirit of the AWID2 Forum as a space for women's rights leaders and activists from all over the world to come together to share experiences, to laugh, to be challenged and inspired, to strategize on how to make positive changes and, most of all, to celebrate.
