Abstract

Sharron Marco-Thyse examines how, eleven years after the arrival of democracy in South Africa, landless groupings are growing at an alarming rate. She briefly outlines the broader legislative framework for South Africa's land reform programme and discusses some of the reasons for the slow pace of land reform and its impact on the agricultural sector.
