Public Science and Social Responsibilities
Daniel Sarewitz
Abstract
Daniel Sarewitz argues that science and technology constantly remake the world, and that each new wave of remaking has brought with it both enormous advances and huge challenges. Faced with the prospect of great, culturally disorienting and transforming changes across multiple dimensions, the question he asks is how, in the face of such changes, we can understand the responsibility of science and scientists.
