The application of nanotechnologies in the field of health is profiled as one of the most promising. Nanomedicine is even seen as a fundamental element in the fight against poverty. Nevertheless, Noela Invernizzi and Guillermo Foladori argue that intrinsic characteristics of nanomedicine could widen still further the gap between haves and have-nots.
