China's New Role in Asia and the South
Dorothy Guerrero
Abstract
Abstract Dorothy Guerrero argues that China's increasing influence in the Asia region is shifting regional dynamics, the implications of which are still unravelling. She suggests that China's growing economic predominance, although still unmatched by its power in the political and security realms, is posing an emerging challenge to both the United States and Japan. This is creating expectations that China could offer an alternative leadership not just in Asia but generally in the South.
