Eckstein Prize winners announced

We are pleased to announce the winners of the Eckstein Prize. Awarded biennially, the latest Prize recognises the best article published in the Eastern Economic Journal (EEJ) in 2005 - 2006. First prize is awarded jointly to Monica Galizzi, University of Massachusetts Lowell for 'Wage Changes, Establishment Growth, and the Effect of Composition Bias' and to Lalith Munasinghe and Nachum Sicherman, Columbia University for 'Why Do Dancers Smoke? Smoking, Time Preference, and Wage Dynamics'.

The Eckstein Prize was established by the Eastern Economic Association in honor of Otto Eckstein, a former president of the EEA, and is awarded biennially to the article in the Eastern Economic Journal judged to be the best over that period. A $1,000 award accompanies first prize.
