Thank you to Ray…Palgrave Macmillan extends its heartiest thanks to Ray Paul for his seven amazing years of contribution to EJIS as Chairman of the Editorial Board; as Co-Editor, and lastly as Editor-in-Chief.
Ray has pushed hard to continually develop and expand EJIS. His editorial mantra of 'What story are you trying to tell the reader?; What will the reader know after reading your paper that they did not know before?, and 'Why should anyone believe you?' has guided many an EJIS contributor.

Hans van der HeijdenEJIS also welcomes Hans van der Heijden, Head of Division of Management and Professor of Management Information Systems at University of Surrey to his new role of Editor of EJIS.
In European Journal of Information Systems 16.1 we publish a Special Section on the European Information Systems Academy.
Two of the papers are on separate analyses of the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS), and the third examines the dominant North American view of IS scholarship and uses European scholarly journals to show the benefits of a more inclusive approach to IS scholarship.
In the words of our editor Ray Paul, “These papers in this special section also provide an impetus to potential further research on this topic. Is IS scholarly activity different in different regions of the world, and if so, why would this be? Does the increasing drive to assess, quality assure, benchmark, appraise, evaluate etc. drive all scholarly publication into a narrow insular academic straightjacket, or can the diversity of views and approaches be maintained or even increased for the health of IS as a subject.” Access the Special Section on the European Information Systems Academy in EJIS 16.1. to view these papers
