| Abstract |
 |
This editorial essay introduces each of the articles contained in this inaugural issue of the European Management Review. The articles fall into two broad categories: the first group engages with arguments around 'strategy-as-practice', a perspective that is gaining increasing prominence within strategic management; the second group of papers are best understood as acting as cultural intermediaries, in that they bring fresh insights from other subjects to the study of strategic management.
