Women in the Labour Party, 1906-1920

I should like to thank Sue Bruley, Martin Durham and the Feminist Review Collective, particularly Catherine Hall, for their helpful comments and suggestions, and the Labour Party, for access to archive material and photographs.

Caroline Rowan has been doing historical research for some years. She was at the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies and is now working in adult education in London. She is also the editor, with Rosalind Brunt, of Feminism, Culture and Politics which will be published by Lawrence & Wishart in October of this year.
