Girls, jobs and glamour

Norma Sherratt first became interested in girls' occupational choices when teaching Sociology first in Further Education in the early seventies and later in a College of Higher Education. This article is based on research carried out for an M.Phil. in the Sociology of Education and owes much to later experiences of teaching WEA Women's Studies courses. Norma Sherratt now works part-time for the Open University, including teaching on the Changing Experience of Women Course.
