Katherine Gieve is a solicitor and has been involved in the women's movement since 1971, principally in the Campaign for Legal and Financial Independence and with Rights of Women. She is co-author of The Cohabitation Handbook (Pluto Press) and is at present editing a collection of essays on motherhood for Virago Press.
