New Alliances: Socialist-Feminism in the Eighties
Kathryn Harriss worked at the Camden Women's Aid refuge from 1980 to 1982 and at the North Lewisham Law Centre as a housing worker from 1982 to 1987. She has just completed an MA in Women's Studies at the University of Kent and is currently training to be a solicitor.
Many of the examples used in this article have been gathered from my own experience as a community worker or from my knowledge of groups in London.
