Cherry Smyth lectures on lesbians in film and writes film reviews. She is currently contributing to and coediting a book on the representation of women in cinema, to be published by Virago. She contributed to Serious Pleasure (London: Sheba, 1988) and the forthcoming Feminist Companion Guide to Cinema (Virago). She lives in London.
