Black Women, Sexism and Racism: Black or Antiracist Feminism?

Gemma Tang Nain currently works as a regional programme officer with the Caribbean Network for Integrated Rural Development (CNIRD). She has lectured in politics and sociology and worked on research projects for the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and for the Inter-American Institute of Co-operation in Agriculture (IICA). She is an active member of a local feminist group, Women Working for Social Progress (Workingwomen) and of the Caribbean Association for Feminist Research and Action (CAFRA). This article, though somewhat modified, forms part of a wider study by Tang Nain on black women and feminism.
