Representation of Patriarchy: Sexuality and Epistemology in Freud's 'Dora'

Toril Moi has been active in various groups trying to promote feminist literary criticism in Norway. She will be European visiting fellow in Clare Hall, Cambridge, in 1981-2, and is currently working on a study of jealousy in French literature.

The main sources for this essay were oral: it would never have been written were it not for the invaluable insight I gained both from Neil Hertz's seminars on 'Freud and Literature' at Cornell University in the Fall semester of 1980. and from the exciting and extremely inspiring discussions in the 'Women's Group on Psychoanalysis' at Corell that same autumn.
