Call for Papers

The Geneva Association Health and Ageing Research Program is pleased to announce a Special issue on Health in The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance - Issues and Practice.

We encourage you to submit contributions related to the following areas:

  • The impact of integrating an ageing population in health insurance systems;
  • New health technology and insurance;
  • Development of health care systems and the capitalization debate;
  • The interaction of public and private systems in health care provision;
  • Insuring and managing long-term care risks;
  • Health issues for an ageing population in the workplace;
  • Climate change and its impact on health and insurance.

Papers should be submitted electronically (Word or Adobe format only) by 1 February 2010 at the latest to Christophe Courbage.

Special Issue on the Four Pillars

Volume 34, issue 4 of The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance - Issues and Practice is a special issue on the Four Pillars, a research programme set up by The Geneva Association in 1987 with the aim of studying the key importance in the new service economy of Social Security, Insurance, Savings and Employment. The special issue looks at the future of pensions and retirement income, and the technical issues on pension provision. Access the full table of contents

World Risk and Insurance Economics Congress
25-29 July 2010, Singapore

The European Group of Risk and Insurance Economists (EGRIE), The American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA), The Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA) and The Geneva Association organise the Congress by merging their regional meetings into this global meeting every five years.

The purposes of the Congress are to stimulate corporate awareness and interest in risk-related research and to provide a forum for networking among academics and industry and government professional worldwide. The Congress is open to "all persons" who share an interest in promoting education and research in the broad areas of risk and insurance.

Scientific Committees of the Congress invite submission of proposals to present theoretical or applied research dealing with issues in risk management, insurance, actuarial science and related areas. The proposal deadline is 1 February 2010.

Special Issue on Climate Change 2009

The Geneva Association is pleased to announce a special issue on Climate Change and its Economic Impact on Insurance in The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance - Issues and Practice, published in July.
