Calls for Papers

MULTILEVEL EMPIRICAL RESEARCH IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

Submissions are requested for a Special Issue of Journal of International Business Studies.

This special issue seeks to promote and shape the future direction for multilevel quantitative research in the field of international business. Multilevel research investigates phenomena at several levels of analysis - such as individuals, groups or subsidiaries, firms, networks or business groups, industries or organization sets, and countries and regions - to illuminate the multiple causes or consequences of behaviors at and across these levels. This allows us to better analyze international business actions within a comprehensive and integrative framework.

Deadline for submission: April 30, 2010
Tentative publication date: Fall 2011 or Spring 2012
Access the Call for Papers.

GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISES AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

Submissions are requested for a Special Issue of Journal of International Business Studies.

This Special Issue is motivated by and in memory of John H. Dunning (Professor Emeritus, University of Reading and Rutgers University). Professor Dunning was one of the founders of the modern field of international business (IB) research, with a scholarly oeuvre spanning a 50-year period. His last public message, sent to the Academy of International Business Fellows just before he passed away on January 29, 2009, recommended that JIBS prepare a Special Issue devoted to “the various and unique causes and implications of the current world wide credit crunch and economic slow down; and what might be done to avoid this happening again.”

Deadline for submission: January 29, 2010
Tentative publication date: Winter 2011
