So where to next? A survey of the future for discrete-event simulation.
Discrete-event simulation has been with us for around 50 years. During this time, the field has seen significant progress as witnessed by the plethora of software packages and reported applications. But what of the future? Taylor and Robinson look at where the field may go in the next 10 years.
Simulation software: not the same yesterday, today or forever.
Pidd and Carvalho consider the strong links between discrete-event simulation and developments in computing over the last 50 years and suggest that today's simulation packages may need to be radically rethought if they are to meet users' future expectations.
