What parts of the Palgrave Macmillan Journals website are free?

All tables of contents pages, abstracts, search facilities and information pages are free. E-mail alert services are free once you register.

How can I see full text?

You will need to have a current subscription to your journal.

Why can't I see full text when I have paid for an online subscription?

Institutional subscriptions: if you are at an institute check that your librarian/IT department has set access for the computer you are using. Access is controlled via IP addresses entered within the institutional administrative system.

Why do I need to register?

Registering an online account and associating your subscription/s, ensures you can view subscribed material. Registration also enables you to register for e-alerts and to purchase single articles online.

Will I be charged for registering at the Palgrave Macmillan Journals website?

No, the following registration-based services at Palgrave Macmillan Journals are currently free of charge and you are under no obligation when you register for them:

Can I modify my registration form details?

Yes, Personal subscribers can modify account information in "My account". Institutional administrators need to Login to amend any of the Institution details or change IP addresses.

Can I view articles from previous years?

Yes. View the online archive here.

How will I know the password?

Personal subscribers choose their own password. If you cannot remember your password, request a lost password reminder.

Is the e-mail service free?

Yes, e-mail alerting is a free service offered by Palgrave Macmillan Journals.

Will I get e-mailed with other information?

We offer an option to receive additional marketing information on other Palgrave Macmillan books and journals, but unless you choose to register for this you will receive only E-alerts for your selected titles. See Palgrave Macmillan's privacy policy for more information.

Can I get the full text of articles by e-mail?

No, the contents of our articles such as diagrams, tables, formulae and photographs, don't lend themselves well to effective e-mail transmission.

How do I subscribe to a Palgrave Macmillan Journal?

Please contact our subscriptions department regarding new or existing subscriptions.

How do I obtain a site license?

View all information on site licenses here.

How long will my on-line subscription be valid for?

Most Palgrave Macmillan subscriptions run on a calendar year. Online access expires on 31 December. All volumes that do not run Jan-Dec will end on the last day of the relevant month.

Will I be notified when I need to renew my subscription?

Yes, a letter will be sent to you before your subscription ends about continuing your current subscription in the following volume.

How do I change the format of my subscription?

Please contact our subscriptions department at the renewal stage, to change your standard subscription to an online only version.

How long will it take for me to receive my first print issue after subscribing?

The next print issue will be despatched to you as soon as it is published. If you are due any back copies then these will be despatched within 2-3 weeks.

Why haven't I received the next issue?

There may be a delay either in the publication of your journal or in the postal delivery. Please use our online form or contact our subscriptions department if you are missing an issue. Claims should be made within four months of the issue's publication, or your order (whichever is later).

What should I do if I forget my password?

If you cannot remember your password, you can request a reminder.

I accidentally ordered twice whilst online. What do I do now?

Don't worry. We manually check online orders and discard duplicates before our subscriptions department begin to process requests. So you should never receive two subscriptions to the same journal. If you are receiving two copies please contact our subscriptions department.

Can I cancel my subscription?

All orders are regarded as firm. Cancellations and refunds can only be made before publication of the first issue.

How safe is it to send my credit card details to you online?

I am moving country. Do I need to pay a different rate?

You may well need to pay a different rate. Different regions have different subscription costs to reflect varying postage rates and the costs of doing business in each country. When you contact us to tell us your new address, we can either debit or credit you depending on your new location. If you are moving within a region, e.g. within Western Europe (Italy to Germany), or South America (Brazil to Argentina), then it is possible that your subscription costs will remain exactly the same. To find out if you are affected, contact our subscriptions department.

Is there an agent's discount?

Yes, please review the current price list for applicable discount.

Can I get a student discount on the printed edition of Palgrave Macmillan Journals?

Specific student prices are not generally available, but most of our titles offer personal prices at very substantial discounts.
