Palgrave Macmillan Journals - partner of INASP, JDP, Cross Ref and COUNTER.

  Established by the International Council for Science (ICSU), INASP works with information and communication professionals to strengthen local knowledge creation and dissemination in transitional and developing countries. Palgrave Macmillan Journals is part of the PERI initiative (Programme for the Enhancement of Research Information) which negotiates affordable licenses to our journals for registered institutions and project centres in the developing world

  The Journal Donation Project (JDP) was launched by Arien Mack, Marrow Professor of Psychology at the New School’s Graduate Faculty in 1990. It aims to rebuild major research and teaching libraries in countries that have fallen victim to political or economic deprivation by working with publishers such as Palgrave Macmillan to provide them with current subscriptions and back issues of academic and research journals.

  CrossRef is an independent membership association, founded and directed by publishers. CrossRef's mandate is to connect users to primary research content, by enabling publishers to do collectively what they can't do individually.

  The use of online information resources is growing rapidly. It is widely agreed by producers and purchasers of information that the use of these resources should be measured in a more consistent way. Librarians want to understand better how the information they buy from a variety of sources is being used; publishers want to know how the information products they disseminate are being accessed. An essential requirement to meet these objectives is an agreed international set of standards and protocols governing the recording and exchange of online usage data. The COUNTER Codes of Practice provide these standards and protocols and are published in full on this website.
