This is most likely due to the Adobe Acrobat Reader® being absent or incorrectly installed on your computer. Adobe Acrobat Reader® is available free from the Adobe website. Some users find that their combination of browser and Adobe Acrobat Reader means that when they first try and download a PDF, they are presented with a blank screen. To show the PDF correctly, click the "Back" button and then the "Forward" button on your browser. This shows the PDF correctly.

This is usually caused by your computer running out of memory while trying to download the PDF article. Some article PDFs, especially those with colour images, are very large and may present a problem for your computer. It is your responsibility to ensure that your computer is of sufficient capacity to be able to view large PDF files. Possible solutions include:
- Close down other programs running on your computer at the same time;
- Save the PDF to your hard disk and open it from Adobe Acrobat Reader;
- Upgrade your computer's memory.
