News

Special Issue: Immigration
Psychoanalysis, Culture & Society Volume 14, Issue 3 (September 2009)

Guest Editors: Ricardo C. Ainslie (University of Texas at Austin) and Pratyusha Tummala-Narra (Lynch School of Education, Boston College).

The Special Issue documents immigrants' experiences of psychoanalysis and how immigration shapes individual concepts of social class, home, friendship and socialization. The content is both diverse and progressive and reflects the regular contribution that PCS makes to critical analysis of the intersection between psychoanalysis and the social world.   For a limited time you can read the Special Issue article Friendship, socialization and the immigrant experience by Salman Akhhtar for free.

Special Issue: Us vs Them
Editor: Lynne Layton
This Special Issue asks distinguished clinicians and academics from different psychoanalytic schools – Jungian, Kleinian, relational, Lacanian, object relational, classical – to reflect on how ‘us vs them’ polarities form, become rigidified and potentially resolve.
