^*This Polity Forum began as a roundtable at the 2007 Annual Meeting of the American Political Science Association. The session was organized and chaired by Laura Jensen and included participants Richard Bensel, Richard John, Stuart McConnell, and Andrew Polsky. The papers of these scholars were coupled with contributions from William Adler, Desmond King, Robert Lieberman, William Novak, and Bartholomew Sparrow to comprise this forum.
