Health and Wealth in East and West: Divergence and Convergence in Europe

The main theme of the congress is recent social and economic changes affecting health and health care in European countries, with a specific focus on the East/West divide as well as on social disparities within the two parts of Europe.

Keynote Speakers:

• Martin Bobak, University College London, UK. Social change and public health challenges in Eastern and Western Europe
• Sally Macintyre, University of Glasgow Winning lecture of "The ESHMS Award 2006":
  Social and spatial patterning of health and health inequalities
